Notre Dame men’s basketball kicks off their season with a historic international matchup against Villanova, setting the tone for a schedule packed with challenges and opportunities. With key non-conference games against powerhouses like Florida, Vanderbilt, TCU, and Ohio State, every contest is a measuring stick for a roster hungry to recapture past glory seen in stars like Pat Connaughton, Zach Auguste, and Bonzi Colson.

As the ACC slate looms, the schedule heats up with a road battle at Duke’s legendary Cameron Indoor and a high-stakes rivalry clash with Miami in Coral Gables. The final stretch features a pivotal home game against Boston College that could determine crucial ACC Tournament seeding. Can Notre Dame harness home court advantage at Purcell Pavilion and surpass expectations, or will a grueling late-season road run test the team’s resilience and unity?

Notre Dame women's basketball opens its season with sky-high expectations as Hannah Hidalgo returns fresh off an ACC Player of the Year campaign, eyeing another record-setting run. The 5'7 guard, already a 3-time All-American, headlines a roster that blends talent and potential, but faces the challenge of building chemistry with a largely new group. Can Hidalgo repeat her astonishing feats—like last season’s 900 points and NCAA-record 200 steals—while guiding a fresh lineup toward instant success?

Newcomers Leah Macy, Jaycee Abbey, and Jenica Lewis bring size, scoring, and perimeter shooting, raising questions about how quickly they’ll adjust to the college game. With only Kelly Ratigan returning as a veteran presence, the team relies on immediate impact from talented freshmen and Princeton transfer Madison St. Rose. Will Coach Niele Ivey unlock Notre Dame’s full potential and recapture the magic for a deep postseason run?

Notre Dame men's basketball faces a pivotal season opener against Villanova as attention shifts to a revamped roster searching for new leaders. With Brayden Shrewsbury stepping in as the team’s top playmaker after Marcus Burton’s departure, all eyes are on the Shrewsbury brothers and promising freshmen like Nick Shrewsbury and Jonathan Sanderson to ignite a backcourt resurgence. Can this young guard group create the necessary on-court chemistry to lift Notre Dame out of recent struggles?

In the frontcourt, expectations rest on the growth of forward Brady Koehler after solid contributions last season, while 7-foot freshman Gan-Erdene Solongo offers much-needed size at center. The loss of talents like Jalen Harrelson and the absence of impact from senior center Logan Duncomb raise questions about this squad’s depth and scoring ability. Will this new look lineup surprise in a basketball-driven state, or is a rebuilding year on the horizon for the Irish?
