What does it mean to trust God when the outcome is uncertain? In **Ezra 8:21–23**, Ezra calls God's people to fast and seek the Lord, trusting Him to provide protection and guidance.

In this sermon, **“Fasting, Prayer, & the Faithfulness of God,”** we examine what this passage teaches us about dependence upon God, the purpose of fasting, the power of prayer, and the faithfulness of the Lord toward His people.

Ezra and the Israelites were facing a journey that required them to depend upon God rather than their own strength or resources. Their response was to humble themselves, fast, and seek the Lord. Their example reminds us that prayer is not merely a religious exercise—it is an expression of genuine dependence upon a faithful God.
