  • Under The Hawthorn Tree: Depressing Irish Classic? The Big Bald Book Club Ep4
    Oct 6 2026

Under The Hawthorn Tree: Martin Corrigan brings to this week's BBBC a harrowing piece of Irish children's literature he last read during his school days. A less cheery episode than previous as the gang (you can have a gang of two) discuss colonial atrocities, famines, forced migrations and the legacies of imperialism. What a reveal, ey: these aren't the type of balds you find painting roundabouts. These Balds go deep…into Literature.

  • is The book Blade Runner's based on better than the film? BBBC ep 3
    Sep 29 2026

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?: this novel - the inspiration for the classic film Blade Runner and its less-classic sequel - makes it very clear on page one that no one dreams of electric sheep. But what do Martin Corrigan and Scott Manley Hadley dream of? We don't know, they don't discuss that here. We are LAFS (The London Arts Facilitation Society). • Do Wutherings dream of electronic Heights? | The Big Bald Book Club Podcast #2
    Sep 22 2026

Wuthering Heights: with Martin Corrigan an expert on “heights” (Martin is an astounding 5ft 17) and Scott Manley Hadley an expert on “wuthering” (history of poor mental health, boohoo), how will the BBBC fare with this mid 19th century tale of haunting and haunted love? Let's just say that in this episode, there is no consensus… Don't believe the rumours: bald people CAN read. The shine from their heads just makes it more difficult. Welcome to the BIG BALD BOOK CLUB, where two bald comedians talk about books… with no hair and no nonsense. (There may be some nonsense.) Martin ( / martydozer ) (who prefers more pictures than words) hasn't really read a lot, while Scott Manley Hadley ( / scottmanleyhadley ) has read more books than they ever had hairs. Join Martin and Scott in the BBBC as they read - and sometimes re-read - some of the greatest, some of the baldest and (when schedules demand) some of the shortest books ever written. Scott Manley Hadley ( / scottmanleyhadley ) is an alternative comedian who has published books and chapbooks of essays and poetry with several UK indie presses and has been 'Highly Commended' in the Forward Prizes for Poetry. Their “literary lifestyle blog” - www.TriumphOfTheNow.com - has been quoted in print in the New Yorker. _________________________________________ We are LAFS (The London Arts Facilitation Society).
