Dr Simon Gellar is an academic, a lecturer of Criminology at Kent University and over the past few years has been on something of a journey.Simon learned of a plant native to the South Pacific island nations of Vanuatu, Fiji, Tonga and Samoa whose root is used to prepare a beverage enjoyed by the peoples of these lands for 3000 years. It's called Kava and its active compounds (kavalactones) produce a calming and social effect for those fortunate enough to be able to enjoy it.I was one such fortunate fellow, as Simon invited me to his home Kava Bar (called a Nakamal) to try it for myself.See how I experienced it and hear Simon's story, his deep research of this island paradise elixir, as well as the cause of the Kava Coalition which seeks to bring Kava to the world.
