35 - The Missing Piece of the Optimization Conversation for Mompreneurs

Lately it feels like we're constantly being bombarded with advice for optimizing everything in our life and business---from how we have the back-end of our business work down to how we get dinner on the table.
There's nothing inherently wrong with optimizing, but very often, so much of this optimization "advice" has an underlying energy of trying do to more and squeeze more and more and more into our already jam-packed days as mompreneurs.
The key piece missing from this optimization conversation isn't about optimizing so we can fit in more---it's about taking a step to look back at what we're trying to optimize for in the first place.
So join me inside of this conversation to think through:
- Objectively looking at how you're currently spending your time to get a sense of what you're currently optimizing for
- Exploring areas in your life and desires in your heart that often get overlooked and perpetually placed on the backburner of your priorities list---that you wish didn't!
- How to actually begin making optimization tweaks that feel aligned for your current season of life and motherhood
- Proactively planning ahead to intentionally optimize for your ideal version of summer
If you've been having those days recently where you go to bed feeling like you didn't get to do the things you wanted to do, this conversation is a gentle reminder for how you can fix that<3
Here's the 4-step process we go over inside of the episode:
- Record how you spend your time each day for a series of 3 - 4 days (ie. tracking what you did with your time for 30-minute to 60-minute increment and tracking this information somewhere)
- Reflect (without judgment) on where your time has been going versus where it's not going (that you wish it would). To help with this, you can also do a brain dump for 10 minutes writing down all the things that if added to your day would bring you joy, peace, or a feeling of aliveness!
- Explore any beliefs or autopilot scheduling habits that may be contributing to you not spending more of your time the way you actually want
- Decide on necessary habit changes or scheduling tweaks that would better optimize your time for the things that energize you and bring you joy
