When she turns the photograph over, she finds her own name written on the back. The crucifix on the desk trembles once more as a whisper comes from the basement vent — a voice that sounds like a child. Luna follows the sound to the farthest door, where the whisper says her name clearly. She opens it to find a spiral staircase leading down into darkness, and the air smells like wet earth and something burning.
