Good afternoon. Maryland. I'm Aaron Jolly. If you're driving right now, slow down. Dense fog has swallowed the state — visibility down to a quarter mile in spots. That fog advisory runs until 10 A.M., so headlights on, eyes sharp. In the next 24 hours. Once that fog burns off, we're in for a strange one. A front is wobbling across Maryland. And it's splitting us into weather zones. Baltimore hits 56 degrees. Central Maryland reaches 55. But Western Maryland? You're the winner today at 60 degrees. That's the warmest spot in the state. This afternoon, the atmosphere gets unstable. Western Maryland sees scattered thunderstorms roll in around 1 P.M. The Storm Prediction Center has flagged a Marginal Risk for severe weather in the Potomac Highlands. Most storms stay tame, but one or two could punch above their weight. Baltimore and Central Maryland might hear a rumble this evening, but low-level stability keeps your threat minimal. Tonight, that front slides back south and the fog returns. Rain showers peak around 10 P.M. In Baltimore, midnight in Central Maryland. Western Maryland takes the heaviest rain — up to three-quarters of an inch between 42 degrees and 11 P.M. Lows drop to 44 in Baltimore, 42 in Central Maryland. And 46 out west. Friday stays cloudy with patchy fog into late morning. Isolated showers possible, especially west of the Blue Ridge. Highs only hit 50 statewide — a noticeable cooldown. Here's your heads-up for the weekend and beyond. Saturday warms back into the mid-60s to low 70s, but rain showers return late. Sunday brings a cold front with lingering showers. Then we dry out Monday with mostly sunny skies and mid-60s. Tuesday and Wednesday? We're talking 70s statewide — unseasonably warm for early March. Drive safe in that fog this morning. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
