Central West Virginia sees a few rumbles of thunder early, then climbs to 76 degrees by afternoon. That's 46 degrees warmer than normal for early March. Your daffodils are confused. Southern West Virginia catches a break today. Mostly cloudy, high near 72. Just a slight chance of rain until evening showers roll in. Tonight, rain continues everywhere. Lows hold in the mid-50s to around 60 degrees. Friday brings record-threatening warmth. Upper 70s and low 80s statewide. Keep that umbrella handy though — scattered storms remain possible. Saturday's the one to watch. Strong to severe thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. Damaging winds are the main threat. Highs near 80 before the storms hit. A cold front crashes through Saturday night. Sunday cools to the low 60s with lingering rain. Monday and Tuesday rebound to the low 70s with occasional showers. In One bright spot, we're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. Sunrise at 6:54 this morning. Tonight's full moon will shine through those breaking clouds. Stay dry if you can.
