Good evening. Michigan. I'm Aaron Jolly. That gray ceiling overhead? It's here to stay. You're sitting at 47 degrees under overcast skies, already 27 degrees warmer than this morning's low of 26. But don't get too comfortable with the quiet. Fog rolls in tonight. And rain follows close behind. In the next 24 hours. Down in Southeast Michigan, get ready for low visibility after 10 P.M. As fog develops, with rain spreading in overnight. Thursday stays soggy with a high of 43 degrees and rain likely through the day — you could see a half to three quarters of an inch. Over in West Michigan, patchy fog forms after 1 A.M., then rain arrives by morning. You'll hit 44 degrees with rain likely through the afternoon. Up north. Northern Michigan stays drier longest. Mostly clear skies tonight with a low of 27 degrees. Thursday brings just a slight chance of drizzle and a high of 42 degrees. Here's where it gets interesting. Friday kicks off a dramatic warm-up. Highs surge into the 60s across Lower Michigan — that's roughly 27 degrees above normal for early March. But the warmth comes with a price. Thunderstorms roll through Friday night into Saturday. Some could be strong, especially in West Michigan where the Storm Prediction Center has already flagged a marginal severe risk. Sunday offers a breather with sunshine and highs in the mid-50s. Then another round of rain and storms arrives Tuesday into Wednesday, with temperatures cooling back down. Tonight's full moon will have to fight through all that fog to make an appearance. Sunrise is at 7:10 A.M., sunset at 6:32 P.M. — we're gaining nearly three minutes of daylight each day now, with spring just two weeks away.
