Good morning. Michigan. I'm Aaron Jolly. If you're driving through southeast Michigan right now, you know the deal. Dense fog has visibility down to a quarter mile in Lenawee and Monroe Counties until 10 A.M. Slow down and flip those headlights on. In the next 24 hours. Southeast Michigan sits at 38 degrees under a gray blanket. Rain rolls in by mid-morning and peaks right around 2 P.M. You're looking at a soggy afternoon with highs near 44 degrees. Could see half to three quarters of an inch before it's done. West Michigan starts at 40 degrees with patchy fog of its own. Rain showers kick in late morning and stick around through the afternoon. Same story here — highs hit 44 degrees. Now head north and it's a completely different morning. Northern Michigan wakes up clear and cold at 27 degrees. Partly sunny skies take over, with just a slight chance of drizzle late this afternoon. Highs climb to 43 degrees. Tonight, rain tapers off but the fog hangs around. Lows settle between 34 and 38 degrees. That full moon rising tonight? You'll probably miss it through the clouds. Friday flips the script. Temperatures surge into the upper 50s to mid 60s — that's 27 degrees to 27 degrees above normal for early March. Showers and thunderstorms develop as warm air pushes north. The weekend stays mild but wet. Saturday brings more rain and storms with highs in the mid 60s south. A cold front sweeps through Saturday night, knocking temperatures back into the 50s for Sunday. Next week looks unsettled with rain chances returning Tuesday and Wednesday. Spring equinox is just two weeks away. And this forecast has that late-winter transition written all over it.
