Good morning. Nevada. I'm Aaron Jolly. Nevada is putting on a show today. Down south in Las Vegas, you're sitting pretty at 58 degrees under blue skies, cruising toward 67 this afternoon. But those north winds? They mean business. Gusts hitting 33 miles an hour will remind you it's still March. Tonight drops to 47 under mostly clear skies. In the next 24 hours. Push north to Reno and Elko. And it's a completely different day. Reno tops out at 50 degrees with sunshine and light winds — sounds nice, right? Then the bottom drops out. Tonight plunges to 26 degrees. That's a 24-degree nosedive. If you're heading out after dark, layer up. Eastern Nevada is living in a different season entirely. Scattered snow showers roll through from 6 A.M. Into the afternoon, peaking around 10 A.M. With a coin flip chance of accumulation. Highs only reach 43 degrees. And west winds gusting to 25 miles an hour will make it feel even rawer. Winter Weather Advisory stays active for the Ruby Mountains and northern Elko County through 7 P.M. Here's where it gets interesting. A warming wave builds Friday and keeps rolling through the weekend. By Monday, we're running 23 degrees to 23 degrees above normal statewide. Southern Nevada could kiss 81 degrees. Northern Nevada might see its first 70-degree day of 2026. One more thing — tonight's full moon rises right at sunset. With clear skies across most of the state, it should be spectacular. We're also gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. Spring equinox is just two weeks out. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
