Good morning. Puerto Rico. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you'll feel it right away. That steady east wind pushing across the island at 18 miles an hour, gusting to 69 miles an hour. We're sitting at 82 degrees under partly cloudy skies. And those trade winds are bringing in fast-moving showers. In the next 24 hours. Metro San Juan stays breezy today with a high of 80 degrees. Scattered showers roll in around noon and linger through early afternoon — about a coin flip's chance. Tonight, partly cloudy with a low of 75. Head south and it warms up. Southern Puerto Rico reaches 87 degrees this afternoon, with gusts up to 30 miles an hour. Showers develop after noon with a slight chance. Tonight clears out with a low of 72. Out west, it's a wetter story. Western Puerto Rico sees an 85-degree high with a likely chance of showers this afternoon. Some spots could pick up a half to three quarters of an inch of rain. Skies clear overnight with a low of 69. Important safety note — there's a high risk of rip currents at north and east-facing beaches through Friday night. If you're heading to the shore, check those beach flags and talk to lifeguards before getting in the water. Tonight brings a full moon. A nice way to end a breezy day. Looking ahead, this pattern holds through the weekend. Expect highs in the low to mid 80s each day with passing showers and those persistent easterly winds. We're gaining about a minute of daylight daily now, with sunrise at 6:42 and sunset at 6:32. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
