Good evening. Hawaii. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you feel it immediately. That thick blanket of cloud is trapping the heat. We're sitting at 79 degrees right now. And the overnight low only dipped to a balmy 75. In the next 24 hours. It's a tale of three islands today. Maui hit the sunshine lottery. You're looking at clear skies and a high of 84 degrees. Perfect beach weather if you ask me. Oahu, you're caught in the middle. Scattered showers linger through this evening before tapering off. Expect more sun breaks with a high near 82. Just watch those east winds gusting to 23 miles an hour. They will find every gap in your umbrella. The Big Island catches the brunt of the moisture. A 70 percent chance of rain tonight, especially along those southeast-facing slopes. Highs reach 78 today with scattered showers continuing through midday Thursday. Keep your eyes on the sky tonight. A full moon is rising. We saw sunrise at 6:50 this morning. And sunset is at 6:38 this evening. We're gaining over a minute of daylight every day now. Spring equinox is just two weeks away. Looking ahead, the pattern stays relatively quiet through the weekend. Highs hold steady in the low 80s for Oahu and Maui. And the upper 70s for the Big Island. But next week brings a shift. Deep tropical moisture moves in Tuesday into Wednesday. Rain chances jump to 80 percent for some areas. We could see heavy rain and thunderstorms by midweek. A quick note for the boaters. A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for waters around Maui and the Big Island through Thursday evening. If you're heading out, check the conditions first.
