I ask him, ‘Do I know you?’‘Have we met before?’He smiles, just a little, and says…‘Yes.’Then he turns and walks down the stairs.I lean over the railing to watch him go— but halfway down, he’s just… gone.No footsteps. No shadows. Nothing.
