À propos de ce contenu audio
Welcome to the first episode of The Highest Five, where a handful of dedicated Deadheads debate and define the best live versions of Grateful Dead songs.
In our first episode, we start with an opener: Feel Like a Stranger. We talk about what makes this song so unique in the Grateful Dead canon, what makes a great version, why it's maybe not a great song, but a great, compact jam vehicle, and dive into what are considered the best versions according to a site called headyversion.com. Then, we propose some alternate versions for consideration.
We start, however, by discussing the tremendous loss of Bob Weir; how he has carried the legacy of the Dead forward for 30 years, and what his passing means to this music and to this community. The 300 years starts now (if you know what we mean).
You know it's gonna get stranger, so let's get on with this show...
