Where is your country? The sad reality is that there are millions of refugees around the world right now. People fleeing violence and poverty and persecution. People searching for a new citizenship.

Paul tells us in Philippians 3 that our true citizenship isn't here on earth; our true citizenship is made to be in heaven. And we eagerly wait for the return of our Savior from there—that’s Jesus.

Do you know where you belong? When you believe that Jesus is who He says He is, when you repent, ask Him to forgive you, when you become His child, heaven becomes your home and you become a citizen of heaven!

Maybe you know that kind of sorrow—losing someone you love, feeling like a stranger in your own life, wondering if hope will ever be possible again. Well, there is someone who meets us in our grief. His name is Jesus.

If your heart is aching, you don’t have to bear it alone. Simply say to Him,

Jesus, will you please forgive me? Walk with me in all of this pain of my life. Take over. Show me Your love.

Like you just can't muster up the strength to hold on to hope?

There’s another kind of hope available to you today. Not hope you try to convince yourself of, not hope in your own plans and abilities, but hope that is found only in Jesus.

He loves you so much that He died for you, to wash you clean from every wrong thing you've ever done, to give you a new start.

Let Him restore your hope today. Pray with me now.

Jesus, I give all my heaviness to You. I cannot carry this weight on my own. I need You to strengthen me with Your hope. I believe that You died for my sins when You went to the cross, and I choose to follow You today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
