Home, Again: Stories of Life Between Countries

Home, Again is a reflective podcast about what changes inside you when you move to another country.

Most conversations about relocation focus on logistics. This podcast focuses on the human experience.

Each episode sits with one person and their experience of moving between countries. We explore identity shift, grief of leaving, belonging, relationship change, and reinvention.

You will hear what people did not expect to lose, what changed in how they see themselves, and how they rebuilt a sense of home.

This is not an advice podcast. It is a space for lived experience.

If you have ever moved, are considering it, or feel caught between places, these conversations will help you recognise parts of your own.

Home, Again is part of Bravely Me, a coaching practice supporting people through life transitions and relationship change.

David Zamora left Colombia for South Africa in 2013 with one main goal: to learn English.

In this episode of Home, Again, he shares what it was like to arrive with limited language, take restaurant work to practise English, stand up for his dignity, and build a life over 11 years in South Africa. He also reflects on meeting his wife Michelle, moving to Ireland, and discovering how each country shaped his confidence, relationships, and sense of self.

A thoughtful conversation about migration, language, work, love, and the courage it takes to begin again.

*EPISODE NOTE: This episode has been edited with many cuts due to problems with the interview recording. It however seeks to share David's story in as much depth as possible.

She speaks openly about leaving family behind, navigating pregnancy in a foreign healthcare system, losing independence, and slowly rebuilding belonging one conversation at a time.

This conversation explores what happens when relocation strips life back to the basics and forces you to grow in ways you never expected.

Topics include motherhood abroad, immigration, language learning, identity shifts, cultural adaptation, loneliness, resilience, family, and rebuilding life in Chile.

What happens when relocation changes more than your address?

In this episode of Home, Again!, illustrator and storyboard artist Pete Woo reflects on leaving South Africa for the United Kingdom and the unexpected personal shifts that followed.

Pete shares the reality behind rebuilding life abroad after leaving behind a settled home, creative identity, family, and familiarity in Cape Town.
