This message is for the believer who has felt pressure. Pressure to water it down. Pressure to tone it down. Pressure to quiet your faith to keep people comfortable.

Today, we are focusing on a gift that is vital for every believer—the gift of discernment.

There are moments in life when the path ahead looks bigger than us, heavier than us, and more intimidating than anything we have ever faced before. Joshua stood at such a moment. Moses—the great leader, miracle worker, and intercessor—is gone. The mantle has passed. The river is in front of him. The giants are ahead of him. The people behind him need a leader.

Too often, we rely on our physical abilities, our intellect, or our resources to move forward in life. But the Word of God makes it clear: God’s power works through faith, not human effort. If you step out in faith, God will meet you where you are.

If the forecast says snow, ice, or hurricanes—

We run to the store.

We buy bread and milk.

We charge our phones.

We prepare our homes.

We trust the meteorologist enough to change our behavior.

But when Jesus warns us about storms—

Storms of temptation

Storms of suffering

Storms of loss

Storms of spiritual attack

Too many people do nothing.

We prepare better for weather than we do for life.
