  • 451. Marvel Studios’ Wonder Man REVIEW (SPOILERS)

    Wonder Man is the latest entry into Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It stars Yaha Addul Matteen as Simon Williams, an actor who auditions for a Wonder Man feature film. Ben Kingsley reprises his role as Trevor Slattery, a fellow actor and associate of Simon's. Slattery made his debut in Iron Man 3, where he "impersonated" a terrorist known as the Mandarin. In the Marvel One-Shot "All Hail the King," the 10 Rings break Slattery out of prison to kill him. He ends up playing a key role in the film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. This show takes place after that film.


    Eddie Pence is a stand-up comedian and podcaster. He is the co-host of the Ralph Report with Ralph Garman. He also hosts "The Ramble" with comedian Jerry Rocha and "Not Today…" with Jenn Sterger.


    In this episode, Eddie explains how the show relates to him as an actor. They also debate whether Slattery's return to the MCU ties everything back to Iron Man 3.

    Stranger Things debuted on Netflix on July 15, 2016. 10 years later, it aired the season five finale on December 31, 2025. Set in the 1980s, Stranger Things focuses on the town of Hawkins, Indiana. They meet Eleven, a young girl with special abilities. They inadvertently create an alternate reality called the Upside Down. It was created by the Duffer Brothers and combined 80s icons like Winona Ryder with young stars Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Finn Wolfhard, and many more.


    Lee Elias rejoins the show to review the series, paying particular attention to the fifth season. They discuss all the ongoing storylines and pop culture references. They also analyze the cultural phenomenon that this series became and the expectations for the finale.


    They also discuss the use of Prince songs in the season five finale.

    Star Wars: Visions is an anime anthology series that airs on Disney+. Volume one was released in September 2021—volume two in May 2023. Volume three was released in October 2025. Each episode is an independent story, although three episodes of volume three are sequels to previous episodes. The creators at each studio are given free rein to re-envision Star Wars ideas as they see fit, with guidance from Lucasfilm.


    Star Wars Insider J.C. Reifenberg returns to the show to review Star Wars: Visions. They discuss how each story can fit into the vast timeline of Star Wars. They also talk about the anime influence and gorgeous animation from different creators.

    The Boys spinoff series, Gen V, recently completed its second season. For continuity, it takes place after the events of season four of The Boys. After season one, actor Chance Perdomo died tragically in a horrible motorcycle accident. From the beginning of season two, the storyline incorporated the death of Perdomo's character, Andre, in a uniquely and creatively compelling way. The storyline seems wrapped up and sets up the final season of the Boys, coming soon.

    The plot of season two is loosely based on the comic book story arc "We Gotta Go Now" by Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, and John Higgins.

    Luke Spear of WBZ Radio in Boston joined the show to review Gen V season two. In this episode, Spear discusses comparisons between the show and the original source material, the Boys franchise, and how Gen V enhanced it all.

    Wednesday is a spin-off of the Addams Family franchise. It stars Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, the daughter of Morticia and Gomez Addams. The original Addams Family aired from 1964 to 1966 and was based on a comic strip by creator Charles Addams. Two feature films based on the Addams Family were released in 1991 and 1993. Two animated features were released in 2019 and 2021. Director Tim Burton directs select episodes. The show is created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who also served as showrunners of the hit series Smallville. They also wrote the Marvel feature Spider-Man 2 in 2004.


    Ralph Garman, who hosts the daily podcast The Ralph Report and is an actor/voice actor, returns to the show to review Wednesday. For 20 years, Ralph was a featured announcer on KROQ.


    In this episode, Ralph discusses his affinity for the Addams Family source material. They also address the connections Wednesday has with Smallville. The praise various cast members and discuss casting options. Ralph also notes that while Wednesday is rooted in Addams Family lore, it is an original story that takes the characters in directions never seen in the comic strip, TV show, or films.
