Books, flowers, and a place to grow. In this episode, Luz Maria Mack sits down with editor, writer, and her dear friend Concetta Gleason, founder of Wildflowers & Books, to explore how she brings literacy, gardening, and play to Bronx families.

Concetta shares the inspiration behind Read, Plant, Play and Books and Bouquets, and why building home libraries starts with making books accessible. Together, they discuss how diverse stories help children feel seen, learn about other cultures, and connect with the world around them.

They also get honest about the challenges of publishing, the work behind community programs, and how volunteers and donations help keep these spaces growing. It’s a conversation filled with friendship, laughter, and love for the communities they serve.
