With the demise of “Visit Kent” in September 2025, two boys who grew up in Kent, and who happen to own a broadcasting company tried to buy it from the receivers. Afraid of the impact of budget cuts and a lack of ability of Kent County Council to focus on tourism. Those attempts to acquire “Visit Kent” out of administration failed miserably, we’re still not sure what there was to acquire. So now we’re doing things properly and using our audio muscle and our global reach to shine a light on Kent and to tell the story of the county that created us. Listen to the trailer now.

Season 1 Episode 1: The Real Life Folkestone Mermaid
    May 11 2026

Millions of visitors to Folkestone or even people visiting the town online see images of our Mermaid. A bronze figure that sits proudly in our harbour. Georgina Baker tells the story of how she applied to be the life cast for the sculpture, and the process she went through to get the cast created!

Who would have thought that an attempt to buy “Visit Kent” out of administration in September/October 2025 would now lead to two boys from Kent, who’ve spent more than a decade broadcasting everywhere but from Kent, to now be putting love and ambition into the County they hail from ?

And importantly to deliver revenue and business development to the companies and firms that the County relies on as part of our tourism drive.

Well it’s very much true, and our investment in the places we love and the towns and villages and cities we owe so much and that we have always taken for granted.

Kent matters - now watch us make a difference to the businesses who rely on tourist income at the most challenging economic time of the last hundred years.
