Psalm 16 is beautiful as king David expresses his devotion to and relationship with God. Often called "The Psalm of the Precious Secret," we unpack the psalm according to David's experience and then look to the apostles Peter and Paul in Acts as they reveal the secret... Jesus is the LIVING KING!

-Featuring Pastor Roger

Psalm 22 is presented as a prophetic bridge “from the cross to the crown,” showing how David’s ancient lament foreshadows Christ’s suffering, redemption, and ultimate reign. Pastor Roger teaches that because Jesus was forsaken and bore our condemnation, believers can trust God in suffering, persevere in prayer, and anticipate the day when Christ is universally worshiped. Psalm 22 is the sermon’s central text and lens for reading the gospel across the Psalms.

Key Takeaways: - Trust God in suffering; Christ’s forsakenness secured our righteousness. - Praise leads to commitment and public witness. - If you have not surrendered to Christ, respond now to the finished work of the cross.

-Featuring Pastor Loïs

The sermon examines the sovereignty and providence of God through Joseph’s reconciliation with his brothers, arguing that God ordains and works through human evil to accomplish his good purposes. Using Joseph’s closing words and the larger Genesis narrative, Pastor Loïs resists a naïve “positive thinking” reading and insists the text centers on God’s purposes rather than individual self-help outcomes.

Key Takeaways: - Forgive instead of claiming God’s role as judge; release control and trust God’s purposes. - Show kindness and provide for others as participation in God’s redeeming plan. - Rest in God’s promised future and faithfulness to his covenant promises.
