Spiritual leadership isn't about having boundless physical energy; it’s about where you anchor your soul when you are exhausted. When we rely on our own strength, we burn out, but God offers a different way.

Isaiah 40:29 and 31 in the ESV tells us, "He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength... they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength."

"Our problem is that we try to do God’s work with our own energy. When you are empty, that is exactly when the power of Christ rests upon you. True spiritual leadership is born out of weakness, not self-sufficiency."

Let's pray: Lord, when my strength is gone, let Your grace take over. I surrender my exhaustion to You today; fill me with Your Spirit so I can lead well even when I'm tired. Amen.

Stop trying to be a good Christian man and start training to be one.

You don’t drift into godliness, integrity, or deep spiritual discipline by accident. Just like physical fitness, building spiritual muscle requires an intentional daily routine, structured scripture study, and consistent prayer.

The apostle Paul frames it as athletic conditioning in 1 Timothy 4:7-8 from the ESV: "Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come."

R.C. Sproul reinforced this reality by writing, "Godliness is not a consumer good; it is a commodity acquired only through rigorous spiritual exercise."

Let's pray: Lord, rip away my spiritual laziness. Give me the discipline of an athlete to pursue You daily through Your Word and prayer, training my heart for righteousness. Amen.
