We have a special treat for football fans this weekend.

Legendary Butler and Notre Dame quarterback Terry Hanratty, friend of the pod, is back and brought some early Halloween candy for "Eye on Sports." The former Steeler had a conversation recently with Super Bowl champion and former Pittsburgh head coach Bill Cowher on his own podcast, "Hanratty's Huddle." The two football greats talked about the Steelers, coaching styles, the game's evolution and a whole lot more.

And we're here to bring it to you as well with the Steelers sitting at 4-2 entering the weekend. It's absolutely worth a listen.

And it's great to hear Hanratty, who has been battling cancer for more than a year, is still doing well and cracking jokes.

The key to a good Tom Phillips costume is the yellow ballcap.

That's what we learned this week on "Eye on Sports" talking to Freeport volleyball's Jayme Radvan and Macy Stivenson, the seniors leading the undefeated Yellowjackets into the WPIAL playoffs. They talked about the season, their legendary head coach and his trademark hat and more.

Plus, Derek and Jake dive deeper into Moniteau's thrilling playoff berth, which ends an eight-year drought. What can the Warriors do in the postseason? And who will win this week's slate of games? We make our picks for Week 9 of the PIAA football season.

Look who's back! It's Brendan Howe, friend of the show, making his debut as a guest this week.

"I haven't had one minute to think."

Look who's back! It's Brendan Howe, friend of the show, making his debut as a guest this week.

Howe joins "Eye on Sports" to talk about the Steelers' bounce-back win and the state of the team, Jaylen Warren's ascent and the team's playoff hopes.

Back in high school football, it's a big week for fans of intracounty matchups (cough Jake cough): Butler visits Karns City in the first meeting every between the programs. Will KC beat up on their bigger neighbor or can the Tornado hand the District 9 power a second loss? Who has the advantage in the trenches? And we talk about Butler's continuing quest to prove itself in a skeptical community.

Plus, our Week 8 PIAA football picks on Freeport, Moniteau and all the rest from Butler County.

"Would you buy a urinal trough?"

Nebraska's selling urinal troughs — yeeeppp! — to fans for a cool $2,500. You in?

In on-the-field news, Derek Pyda and Jake Merda Adams break down the area's 3-3 football teams: Butler, Knoch, North Catholic and Slippery Rock. Where are these teams trending? Can Butler and Knoch rebound after losing three straight, and if so, what do things look like ahead for the Knights as they try to make the playoffs? The Tornado host Baldwin this week in a matchup of ex-WPIAL teams.

And Freeport boys soccer head coach Brad Walker joins the show to talk about the Yellowjackets' impressive start to the season, how the program has grown in the past four years and what's at stake the rest of the season as they chase a WPIAL section title.

The guys then break down the Week 7 slate of PIAA football games and predict who will win. Jake is still leading the fantasy league, but the race is getting closer.

John Enrietto is back, repeatedly asking himself "what is this show?"

Good question, John.

The former sports editor and friend of the show is again in studio to talk PIAA football at the midway point of the season. Who has surprised us most? Which team has impressed us? What stories came out of nowhere and where are they going in the second half? And who is our midseason MVP? We break it all down, and then Derek Pyda and Jake Merda Adams preview Week 6's games.

Plus ... a fantasy league update? Jake's in the lead, but we have some roster moves. Who is getting picked up off the waiver wire? And Steelers and Pirates thoughts, angry Philly fan is angry and more!

"Give us a hint!"

Slippery Rock running back Aden Shay has been the breakout star of the PIAA football season. The senior, who has multiple 200-yard games already, hopped on the phone with us this week to talk about returning to football, his goals in the sport and wrestling, and more.

Season 2 of our high school fantasy football league kicks off with our draft. Producer Laura Crago has joined the league. Can she unseat Derek and Jake at the top of the league?

The rules are simple:

• Each team drafts 1 QB, 2 RBs and 2 WRs
• You can make waiver wire moves at the start of each episode
• All TDs are worth 6 points, no matter how the player scores
• QBs get 1 point for every 40 yards passing in a game
• Runners and receivers get 1 point for every 20 yards rushing or receiving
• Scoring is cumulative for the next eight weeks of the regular season

Find out who went No. 1. Was it Karns City dual-threat QB Cole Johnston? And who do you think put together the best team?

Plus, Derek and Jake break down the Week 2 action and make their picks for Week 3's games. Butler, Karns City, Freeport, Knoch and Seneca Valley are all aiming to remain undefeated. Find out if we think they will do so.

Finally, North Catholic standout distance runner Jack Steineman joins the show to talk about his junior season, his win at the HOKA Showcase a few weeks ago and his ... Ohio State Buckeys and Cincinnati Bengals? Uh oh ...
