À propos de ce contenu audio
Emotional intelligence, often referred to as EQ, is the capacity to be aware of, control, and express one's emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically. It is the foundational skill that allows us to connect with others, communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and navigate social complexities.
While the term gained popularity in recent decades, the concept is ancient. Philosophers and leaders throughout history understood that true strength comes not from suppressing emotions but from understanding them. Plato wrote about the importance of reason taming the passions. The Stoics built an entire philosophy around managing one's internal state to live a virtuous life. They knew that an undisciplined mind, swayed by every emotional whim, could not make wise decisions or build a stable character.
