Simon and Charlie welcome Dominic Berger and Neil Smith from LifeSafe Technologies PLC, where they discuss the journey of LifeSafe and the investment opportunities it presents.
Dominic shares his initial encounter with LifeSafe in 2015 and his belief in the company's innovative fire safety product. Dominic decided to invest in the company through convertible loan notes rather than equity. In 2018, he became a director to protect his investment.
In 2020, Neil joined the team and launched their first product, the Stay Safe 5-in-1. They expanded their brand to North America, Europe, and other channels in the UK. The conversation also addresses the presence of copycat products on Amazon and the protection provided by patents.
Neil discusses the unique features and benefits of LifeSafe's fire extinguisher product, including its patented, environmentally friendly, and versatile nature. They also discuss their partnership with Amazon Launchpad and their efforts to explore the insurance route for distribution.
The decision to go public with an IPO is also discussed, as well as the issue of fires caused by e-scooters and the need for a solution.
