Broken Lizard traded the state trooper uniforms of Super Troopers for machetes and coconut bras in the horror-comedy Club Dread (2004). Set on a hedonistic tropical resort run by washed-up island-rocker Coconut Pete, the staff suddenly finds themselves being picked off one by one by a dreadlocked killer. It is a glorious cocktail of classic 1980s slasher tropes and absolute stoner-comedy absurdity, featuring competitive team-building exercises and a highly intense, human-sized game of Pac-Man. It’s the perfect movie for anyone who thinks Friday the 13th could have used about 80% more margarita mix.
