      What we're Enjoying

Jay dives into the Marvel Super Graphic book, a visually rich book that continues the oversized, data-packed style he loved in Super Graphic and Star Wars Super Graphic. It's part reference guide, part art book, and 100% shelf candy. Shua has been enjoying NASA's Artemis II videos while gearing up for humanity's next trip around the Moon. The footage builds excitement, awe, and wonder to remind us space is still really, really big.

      Sci-Fi Saturdays -

This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay examines Passengers (2016) Starring Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence, it tells about a malfunction on a space ship that wakes one man decades too early on a colony ship, forcing impossible choices and moral gray areas. Jay felt the film had strong potential but struggled with tone, especially given the real-world climate at the time of its release.Read his article on RetroZap.com. And make sure to play around with the interactive map on MCULocationScout.com. Plus, you can tune in to SHIELD: Case Files where Jay and Shua talk about great stuff in the MCU.

      Enjoy Sidekicks!

This episode is all about sidekicks; the characters who stand beside the hero, hold them together, and often save the day while someone else gets the credit. Jay and Shua explore where the idea of the sidekick came from, how it evolved through mythology, comics, TV, movies, and games, and why these characters resonate even more as audiences grow older.

Who are secretly the real heroes? Who's clearly smarter than the lead? Who's just there to keep the main character from completely losing it. It's a celebration of backup characters who deserve top billing… or at least a bigger slice of the spotlight.

What sidekicks do you think deserve more credit? Let us know! First person that emails me with the subject line, "Tune in next week!" will get a special mention on the show. Let us know. Come talk to us in the Discord channel or send us an email to EnjoyStuff@RetroZap.com

Shua was pleasantly surprised by the latest Hugh Jackman film, Song Sung Blue. He plays a Neil Diamond imitator who falls in love and overcomes some really crappy things the world throws at him. Plus, it's got a great soundtrack. Jay is enjoying spending some time and helping his parents in California.

      Sci-Fi Saturdays -

This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay spotlights Arrival (2016), diving into its thoughtful sci-fi storytelling, emotional depth, and unique take on communication and time. This week's episode is a celebration of pulp culture and the heroes who leapt off cheap paper and into pop culture history. Jay and Shua explore what pulp magazines were, why they existed, and how their fast-paced storytelling helped create icons that still resonate today.

Along the way, they bounce through masked crime fighters, jungle adventurers, space heroes, and sword-swinging legends, keeping things light, nostalgic, and full of enthusiasm. It's a reminder that even disposable entertainment can become timeless when imagination leads the way.

Jay has been diving deep into the imaginative worlds of Andy Weir, enjoying The Martian, Artemis, and Project Hail Mary for their clever science, humor, and heartfelt storytelling. He shares how Weir's blend of problem-solving and character makes each book feel like a cinematic adventure. Shua is loving the Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions, now available on Audible, praising the huge ensemble of recognizable voices that bring the wizarding world to life. The immersive performances make it feel like listening to a blockbuster movie in audiobook form.

      Sci-Fi Saturdays -

This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay gives ARQ (2016) the spotlight as he discusses this tense, time-looping science-fiction thriller. It's an obscure one that is definitely worth a watch. Enjoy Spam!

Digging into the history of Monty Python's Flying Circus, exploring how six writers, one animator, and one fearless Carol Cleveland changed comedy forever through sketch, satire, and surreal animation. Through 4 seasons of absurdist comedy, they broke the mold of what comedy was supposed to be.

Then we wrap things up with a playful game in which Jay reads the opening line of an iconic Python quote and challenges Shua to guess what comes next. Test yourself if you're a Python fan to see if you can do better than Shua. .
