If I had a nickel for every time there was an alcohol related disaster in the British Isles, I'd have two nickels - which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
How many alcohol related disasters did you know about before reading that? Because we knew of zero. Besides alcohol poisoning. And all the times we had one too many after our favorite contestant won the Great British Bakeoff.
Today's all about the London beer flood of 1814 and the Dublin Whiskey Fire of 1875.
