Welcome to Dry Humor — the podcast for anyone who realized alcohol was taking more than it was giving… and decided to do something about it.

Your host, Audrey will talk about life on the other side of alcohol — the awkward social stuff, the surprising clarity, the identity crises, and yes… the moments that are actually pretty damn funny.

Listen in on open conversations with real people who decided to put down the drink and pick up, well… everything else. The good, the bad, the funny, the boring, and the unexpectedly great.

Because let’s be honest — sobriety doesn’t have to be all deep quotes and green juice. Sometimes it’s just figuring out how to dance at a wedding without a margarita in your hand.

This is Dry Humor, where we find levity in sobriety.

Because if we can’t laugh about it… what are we even doing?

  • 66. JUST THE TIP: What's The Deal With Journaling?
    Aug 21 2026

Journaling seems to be recommended constantly as a must-have tool in the sobriety toolkit. This episode explores why there might actually be something to it.

This conversation explores what makes journaling so useful, especially when it comes to getting thoughts out of your head and onto paper, a voice note, an email, whatever works for you. It doesn't have to be consistent, perfect, or particularly profound. This episode gives you permission to be messy, inconsistent, and sporadic... it can be a few sentences scribbled down in the moment, or whatever helps you make a little more sense of what's going on inside your head.

This episode gets practical, with simple prompts and ideas for getting started if you're not sure what to write, but also gets personal, as Audrey walks through her early sobriety journal entries.

If journaling has ever felt like one more thing you're "supposed" to be doing in sobriety, this episode is for you. And if you're looking for a simple, low-pressure way to understand your drinking, process what you're feeling, or notice your own growth, it might be worth picking up a pen.

  • 65. When Drinking Costs You Your Peace with Angie
    Aug 18 2026

Have you ever wondered what your life could feel like without the constant fallout from drinking?

Angie and her husband were regulars at their local bar... the kind of couple who knew everyone, bought shots for the whole place, and could always be counted on to be there on the weekend. But eventually, the partying that once felt like fun started taking a toll on Angie's mental health, her parenting, and her peace.

After years of instability, grief, body insecurity, and a complicated relationship with alcohol, Angie had achieved several stretches of sobriety. But after returning to drinking and hitting a point where she knew something had to change, she approached it differently. She stepped away from her social life, cocooned herself for the first few months, started therapy, and finally started doing the emotional work she had put off before.

Now one year sober, Angie talks about the difference between simply taking a break from alcohol, and actually changing the relationship she had with herself. She talks about social drinking, anxiety, family loss, previous attempts at sobriety, and what finally helped make an alcohol-free life stick.

If you've ever wondered whether social drinking is affecting your mental health, or what life can look like on the other side of alcohol, this episode is for you.

  • 64. JUST THE TIP: Were You The Drinking Instigator?
    Aug 14 2026

Maybe the pattern wasn't just drinking... it was making sure everyone else kept drinking, too. The happy-hour suggestions, the push for "one more", the resistance to ending the night early - it can all look like being the fun one or keeping the party going, but sometimes there's more underneath it.

This episode dives into the drinking instigator: the person who keeps the drinking going and might feel unsettled when someone wants to leave, stop drinking, or call it a night. It explores how group drinking can make our own drinking feel more normal, and how much energy goes into keeping everyone else drinking too.

If you've ever been the one who kept the night going, resisted ending early, or felt unsettled when everyone else stopped drinking before you did, this episode is for you.
