Good morning. Delaware. I'm Aaron Jolly. That light dusting of snow you might have seen overnight? Already melting away. Delaware sits at 37 degrees right now with moderate drizzle, caught in a classic transition zone. An Arctic high pressure system is retreating offshore while moisture streams in from the southwest. That combination means one thing: gray, damp. And dreary. In the next 24 hours. Northern Delaware holds at 41 degrees this afternoon with patchy fog and drizzle. Central Delaware climbs to 44 degrees under similar gray skies. Head south and you'll find 43 degrees with fog lingering along the coast. The real action arrives tonight. Rain becomes widespread after dark. Northern Delaware sees rain peaking around 9 P.M. With up to half an inch possible. Central and Southern Delaware get the heaviest downpours closer to 10 P.M. Lows hold steady in the low 40s statewide, keeping everything wet. Wednesday brings a brief break. Temperatures jump to 54 degrees in the north and 56 degrees centrally. Southern Delaware reaches 51 degrees. A chance of rain lingers, but nothing like tonight. Here's the bigger picture for your week. A significant warm-up takes hold. Thursday through Sunday, temperatures climb into the 60s. By Monday, we could hit 70 degrees. That's a 40 degrees-degree swing from this morning's chill. Multiple rounds of showers accompany the warmth, with thunderstorms possible Thursday night and again this weekend. Tonight's full moon won't be visible through the clouds. But spring is just 17 days away. And we're gaining nearly three minutes of daylight each day. Grab an umbrella before you leave the house. You'll need it later. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
