In this episode of the Dank & Dark: The High Horror Geek Show, Brian Brown explores a nostalgic corner of horror from the '90s - the phenomenon of 1-900 numbers. He discusses how these pay-per-minute phone lines, often featuring messages from horror icons and 'psychics', were a huge part of '90s culture. Delving into particular examples, Brian brings up Freddy Krueger’s 1-900 number, the eerie Santa Hotline, the G.L.O.W. Wrestling Hotline, the 'Cursed Doll' number, The Psychic Friends Network and the Unsolved Mysteries Tip Line. Along with these, he also untangles the urban legends and real-life reactions which surrounded these lines. The podcast then pivots to a cannabis strain review, featuring a strain aptly named, Ghost OG, describing its character and effects. Wrapping up, Brian invites listeners to share their own experiences with spooky 1-900 numbers.
