リンキング：代表的な３パターン

単語のつながり方にはパターンがあります。

これはネイティブにとっては子供の頃から触れることで自然に身につきますが、

ノンネイティブにとっては、ある程度、理屈や傾向を知った上で練習するほうが分かりやすいと思っています。

①子音と母音（子音が濁る）

語尾の子音を次の母音とつなげることで子音が濁る

I got it over (乗り越えた)

/ ai gah di dou ver /

** /t/ が母音とつながる時に濁る（Flap T）**

We ended up in the woods (森に迷い込んだ)

/wee en ne dup-in thuh woodz/

** / nd / が母音とつながる時、n化する **

I kind of want to go (行きたいかも)

** to は軽くつなげて発音 **

②子音と子音（子音ミュート）

語尾の子音をミュートして頭の子音を弾く

③母音と母音（半母音でつなぐ）

母音同士は半母音（r, w, y）を挟んでつなげる

①摩擦音の分離

説明：音を擦った後に時間差で声（母音）を乗せる

「まず擦れ！」

説明：息を堰き止め、破裂させた後に母音を乗せる

説明：鼻から息を抜いた後に母音を乗せる

④側音の分離

説明：舌を歯の裏につけて息を抜いたあとに母音を乗せる

「まず舌くっつけろ！」

⑤半母音の分離

説明：唸った後に母音を乗せる

「まずは唸れ！」

練習：r + id

今回は「子音の発音を今までなんとなくやっていた」という人が、完全にその仕組みを把握できる、

＊このエピソードで使われている単語や例文の難易度は英検３級程度です。

子音の役割

発音には「子音」と「母音」という２種類の音があります。

・子音は息で作る音、母音は声

・リズム隊に例えると「子音はドラム（音の輪郭部分）で母音がベース（音色）」

・発音は子音と母音の組み合わせで成り立つ（have /hav/, give /giv/）

子音にはグループがある

子音を５つのグループに分ける

１、摩擦音：こする音（s、sh、f、th、h）

２、破裂音（破擦音）：弾く音（t、p、k、ch）

３、鼻音：鼻から出す音（m、n、ng）

４、側音：Lの発音（Clear L & Dark L）

５、半母音：唸り声を伴う音（r、w、y）

＊母音に混じる音なので半母音と呼ばれる（earn, quiet, music）

＊「l/r」は子音連結で良く使われる（clear/creamなど）

無声音と有声音

摩擦音と破裂音にはそれぞれ無声音（声を乗せない音）と有声音（声を乗せる音）がある

・摩擦音：（s/z、sh/zh、f/v、th/th、h）

・破裂音：（t/d、p/b、k/g、ch/j）

・有声音は無声音と全く同じ発音方法です（日本語の濁音とは違います「ハ⇨バなど」）

摩擦音

共通点：息をとめずに擦る

s/z [s/z] : pronunciation/magazine, kiss/kisses

sh/zh [ʃ/ʒ] : appreciate/pleasure, gosh/garage

f/v [f/v] : physical/vibrant, cliff/believe

th/th [θ/ð] : theory/although, mouth/with

h [h] : hoodie, neighborhood

破裂音

共通点：息を止めて弾く

p/b [p/b]： possibility / beautiful, stop / rob

t/d [t/d]： tomorrow / dictionary, start / card

k/g [k/g]： company / graduate, back / bag

ch/j [tʃ/dʒ]： charity / jealousy, watch / bridge

鼻音

共通点：口からの息を塞いで鼻で音を響かせる

m [m]： memory, program

n [n]： connection, person

ng [ŋ]： everything, distinguish

側音

Clear L : 母音の前のLは弾く

Dark L : 母音の後のLは舌を伸ばして「オ」の発音

l [l]： language, always, clearance

＊Lは子音連結でよく使われる

半母音

共通点：唸り声を伴う

r [r]： robbery, world, gratitude

w [w]： wonderful, question, wound

y [j]： yes, music, year

＊Rは子音連結でよく使われる

The kinds of things you need to learn in seventh grade math,

But these concepts are not impossible,

and I was firmly convinced that every one of my students could learn the material

if they worked hard and long enough.

【練習用フレーズ】母音（vowel）の部分を、自分が思っているよりも大げさに長く伸ばして発音しましょう。

🎙 I work on Sundays.("work" の音をゆっくりたっぷりと伸ばす)

• /ʌ/ (up, cut, come) …脱力した曖昧な音

② R-Vowels (ɑr, ɔr, ɜr)Rが絡むこもった音

• /ɑr/ (heart, start, card) …ahの後に舌を引く

• /ɔr/ (port, corn, award) …oの後に舌を引く

• /ɜr/ (service, circle, hurt) …rをただ伸ばす
