Welcome to Criminal Law Stories, the true crime podcast that takes a critical look at the criminal law.

Criminal Law Stories delves into the law reports to bring you the tales of some of the strangest and most controversial criminal cases. Each episode, Dr Tanya Palmer tells you the story of the case of the week and is then joined by a fellow legal expert to get to grips with what happened when the case got to court. Was anyone actually found guilty? How did the court reach its decision? And how did each case shape the development of the criminal law of England and Wales?

In Series 1 we'll be looking at a range of cases including one of the most notorious miscarriages of justice in UK legal history; we'll be finding out whether your taste in music can be held against you in a court of law, and we'll be exploring how the courts decide whether a defendant with a complex history of drug abuse and mental ill health is truly responsible for their actions.
