    In it, Olivia Holt plays Sloane, a teenager struggling with depression who has her life upended by a zombie apocalypse in her hometown. Finding refuge inside her high school and alongside classmates she was never close with, Sloane progressively finds hope in the middle of the chaos.

    In my conversation with Adam, we discussed how he approached adapting the novel, what it’s really like to make an indie horror film, how Olivia Holt and Froy Gutierrez’s work in ‘Cruel Summer’ helped them land their roles in ‘This Is Not a Test’, and the director’s personal connection to this gory YA story.
