  • Episode 122 - RuneScape's 25th Anniversary, the industry should be taking notes
    Jan 22 2026

    Hello CoinDroppers!

Sorry for the late post, I forgot it was Tuesday since I had Monday off from school.

Today we're giving our thoughts on Cloudheim, talking about Echoes of Elysium, RuneScape's 25th Anniversary and the lessons the industry should be taking away from it, and a great side scrolling Zombie game you shouldn't sleep on.

    Cloudheim

Launched in early access December of last year this Cozy Survival RPG blends amazing combat in a simple and enjoyable gameplay loop. If you're looking for something new, Cloudheim is a good pick for my survival fans out there.

    Echoes of Elysium

And to follow Cloudheim there's Echoes of Elysium. Another cellshaded survival RPG but this time with airships! It looks pretty cool and is being made by a small dedicated team of gamers.

    RuneScape's 25th Anniversary

Runescape is celebrating it's 25th anniversary by removing microtransactions from RuneScape 3. A move that Zach and I both wonder if the industry is paying attention to. As a direct result of this choice active player counts for Runescape saw a nearly 400% growth. Make you wonder...

Into The Dead Our Darkest Days

Getting its 7th major update in less than a year Into The Dead continues to improve. It a game we talked about during next fest that is one I've been wanting to play for a while now. The demo was amazing and I highly recommend you check it out if you're looking for a new Zombie Game.

  • Episode 121 - San Sound is Cutting Edge Audio, Squadron 42 Coming This Year?
    Jan 8 2026

    Good Morning CoinDroppers!

Today we've got something a bit different for you. Way back in September I was invited to meet a new with San Sound. A company that was trying to capture over the ear headphone audio and put it into earbubs. We'll today after a long wait we're talking about the prototype they showed me at PAX. They sent me a demo pair and we're going to talk about it as well as some news about Squadron 42 and an upcoming Indie game!

    San Sound

San Sound is doing some pretty amazing things with earbuds I haven't seen anywhere else. The level of audio fidelity and range in their earbuds rivals mid end over the ear headphones and their latest and greatest is coming soon! They were kind enough to partner with us and send me a pair to talk to you about so if you're in the market for some amazing earbuds definitely consider San Sound

    PACS

Post Apocalypse Courier Service is a co-op survival game that is being made by a small studio on the UK. The game looks like a stupid amount of fun and blends the car building sim style game with a lot of post apocalyptic charm.

    Squadron 42

Apparently Squadron 42 is complete and launching this year. Don't hold your breath but this could be a hugely impressive game and could signal good things for faithful fans of Star Citizen. With it's single player prequal to the MMO complete, and if it actually releases, this could mean a much heavier focus on the nearly 1 billion dollar game that is Star Citizen. Maybe we'll all live to see Star Citizen release after all.

  • Episode 120 - Guess Who Won The Expedition 33 Awards
    Dec 18 2025

    Good Morning CoinDroppers!

We're back and today is our last episode of the year. A nice number 120 to round off the end of 2025. Today we're NOT discussing the insane success of Expedition 33 because everyone else already has. Instead we're going to focus on a few games that we saw at the VGAs and talk about those.

    Divinity

How could Larian possibly top Baldur's Gate 3? Well... like this. The trailer they dropped for their next game was in a single word fan-fucking-tastic. If you missed it make sure you don't watch it with children present because it's so dark Diablo would be impressed. There isn't a lot known at this time so Zach, Chris, but we brainstorm the setting, and timeline as Larian returns to their beloved franchise.

Star Wars Fate of the Old Republic

a new single player RPG from Casey Hudson original creator of Kotor as well as the Mass Effect trilogy. We're finally getting Kotor 3! Maybe. Eventually. Probably. I'm sure this project wont be canceled and passed off a bunch of times right? Should be fine.

    Bradly the Badger

Fan of Conker's Bad Fur Day? Like video games in general? Then there's something for you in Bradly the Badger. More tongue in cheek than raunchy and crude comedy Bradly the Badger definitely takes inspiration from Conker and tones down the M for Most Kids a bit.

  • Episode 119 - Bloodlines 2 Wins a GOTY?! The Biggest Disappointment of the Year Award
    Nov 27 2025

    Good Morning CoinDroppers!

Zach is back with us with some awesome news as we discuss (briefly) the new valve hardware, two RPGS, and the GOTY nominees so with out further delay let's get into the content!

    Steam Machine

Moore's Law is Dead did a fantastic breakdown of this new machine with what I think is probably a pretty accurate estimate on what consumers can expect to pay for this. I won't go into too much detail here but If you want more depth on the gabecube check out his video.

    Steam Frame

This kick ass new piece of kit has me very excited to get back into VR gaming. LinusTechTips got to go to valve and put his hands on this thing hand honestly if the price point is right I'll likely be picking one of these bad boys up day one.

    FateKeeper

Mike and I discussed our first impressions of this ambitious new project from an indie team during it's debut at the THQ showcase earlier this year and now we have some gameplay. Needless to say I'm sold already. Seeing what a small team of talented individuals can do with the UE5 engine is breath taking and while this IS just a vertical slice I cant help but hope for a true spiritual successor to Dark Messiah.

Bloodlines 2 (not even worth linking...)

And now for CoinDrop's Biggest Disappointment of the Year award. Vampire the Masquerade Bloodline 2 sweeps this category with it's impressive failure. Falling short of every possible mark in the worst ways the ONLY thing that this game has to hang it's hat on is it's slightly above average voice actors. Honestly this game had so much promise and the desires of an entire fandom for it to be great. Unfortunately, This is a game that needs to just step into the light of the sun and dissipate into ashes.

    MegaBonk and the GOTY awards

MegaBonk was initially nominated for best breakout indie game when it's mysterious developer specifically asked to be removed. Why you might ask? Well, apparently this isn't their first game. However it is the first game that vedinad is credited for. So did they shoot themselves in the foot?

  • Episode 118 - A Game Brilliant It'll Make You Ask, "Why hasn't this been done already?"
    Nov 13 2025

    Good Morning CoinDroppers!

We're back once again and joining me this episode is Chris. He also did all the editing for this one so if it looks and or sounds bad blame him. His words not mine. Today we're covering a surprising amount of horror games consider we already did our Halloween episode but that's just the way it goes some times.

    Zeverland

First up is a brilliant upcoming survival game Chris and I have high hopes for. Though the title seems a bit weak the game looks amazing and they're launching an closed technical test on the 14th. This is an ambitious new project from first time devs and unlike The Day Before they actually seem interested in connecting with their community and hearing them out. If you wanna join their discord and stay up to date click the link below. and make sure to Wishlist the game on steam if it looks interesting to you. Tell them you heard about it on our show if you join the discord! https://discord.gg/sBNyGQaCS5

    The Florist

What if a game gave you the classic Resident Evil 1-3 style but with vibrantly beautiful and deadly plant monsters. Well that's what you get with the deceivingly flowery naming of this game. The Florist is another upcoming indie game that looks to bring old school style RE gameplay to the modern age. Lets just hope they didn't carry over the awful tank controls and horrible aiming.

    I Hate This Place

And to round off our horror game showcase, I Hate This Place is a comic book inspired horror survival game with an Isometric camera and hardcore rocker in this 80s setting cult horror game. Seems dope to me and I'm all for it.

    Quick Fire News

    • Planet of Lana II was announced, coming 2026
    • Daughter of Voodoo was announced from the solo dev who made Conrad Stevenson's Paranormal P.I and Among the Whispers.

    • Kingdom of Night gets a release date 2Dec25 and we might be getting an interview with the devs.
    • BG4 has been in development for a while but no news on if it's going to be a direct sequel to 3 or it's own thing.

  • Episode 117 - A Macabre Halloween
    Oct 30 2025

    Good Morning CoinDroppers

I apologize for the delay in this post. Chris was supposed to edit this episode but we ran in to some pretty heavy technical difficulties so I had to scramble to try and get it done.

Today is unfortunately a heavy Extraction game focused episode as we're talking about three total. Marathon, Arc Raiders, and A new Game called Macabre.

    Marathon & Arc Raiders

Fresh off the new closed playtest for Marathon I share my thoughts on the latest build and Unfortunately I don't think its as good as it was. And unfortunately not a big fan Arc Raiders either. Both of these games just don't do it for me.

    Old School Runescape

For the first time in 25 years Runescape is getting a new skill to level. Pretty huge news for an ancient and still incredibly popular MMO. Just goes to show you, you don't need all the gimmicks modern games have to have longevity.

    Macabre

A new extraction game that really seems to be blazing its own trail. While it's still very very rough around the edges and needs more time to be great the bones of this horror extraction game are there and it could be a very very fun horror game to play with your friends.

    QUICKFIRE

    • Everwind is good fun
    • Cairn is awesome
    • Kingdom of Night is fun
    • Tears of Metal is fun
    • Pale Coins Review eventually
    • Painkiller Review Incoming
    • Bloodlines 2 released with almost zero fanfare and is apparently quiet the letdown for a sequel to a beloved RPG

  • Episode 116 - Gamepass loses it's mind, EA goes private & Waterworld gets a good game
    Oct 9 2025

    Good Morning CoinDroppers
NEXT EPISODE 30 OCTOBER Halloween Special

Today We're talking about some industry news as well as a game we Mike and I commented on when it was debuted at the THQ Nordic Showcase earlier this year.

    Xbox Gamepass

Even though Xbox just hiked the price of gamepass from $16.99 to $19.99 last year they announced ANOTHER price hike this year to $29.99 and nobody liked that. In fact it was so universally hated that Gamepass' cancelation site crashed from all the people canceling their subscriptions.

    EA Buyout

EA is going private after a 55 Billion Dollar buy out by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, Silver Lake, and the Affinity Partners. This move could be good and it could be bad. Only time will tell but what we do know is that EA is going to be carrying a lot of debt for quiet a while as a result of the buyout.

    Tides of Tomorrow

Mike and I talked about the announcement of this game during our coverage of the THQ Nordic showcase. Well they just dropped a demo and I must say it's a rather enjoyable experience. I'm looking forward to the full release.

  • Episode 115 - New Extraction Game, A Crowded Genre
    Oct 2 2025

    Good Morning Coindroppers!

Today Chris is back with us as we discuss a new Extraction like game that has thrown it's hat into the already over crowded arena. With Steel Hunters sunsetting in less that 6 months after launch, and Dungeonborne within it's first year it's a mystery to me as to why people are STILL making extractions.

    Mistfall Hunter
Launching into early access sometime later this year Mistfall Hunter is the latest dungeon crawling extraction PvPvE game and honestly we've got some concerns about it's staying power. The game as it sits is in a good spot and preformed well in the playtest but strangely the question in this case isn't whether it's good or not. It's if the game will survive it's first year up against an already slam packed genre of games.

    PlayStation State of Play
PlayStation's latest state of play gave us a glimpse of Saros as well as the first real footage of Insomniac's Wolverine. Both games look amazing in their own right but Insomniac appears to truly be living up to our expectations with the Wolverine. If the game delivers on the promise put forth in the trailer I genuinely think this will be the best Wolverine game ever. We also got the announcement of a Deus Ex Remaster as well as disappointing news about The Halloween Game.

    - Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remaster
