  • Episode 73 - David Weisenhorn - Part Four
    Oct 13 2026

In the conclusion of David Weisenhorn’s story, we look at the mission he carries today.

David shares how his path led him into family science, parenting education, youth support, and work with military-connected communities. From supporting families impacted by trauma to helping young people build life skills, David continues to serve in a different kind of uniform.

This final chapter brings his story full circle.

From a large family in North Carolina, to the Army, to the Old Guard, to life after service, David’s journey is one of purpose being rebuilt over time.

Sometimes the mission after the military becomes just as meaningful as the one that came before it.

Thank you to David Weisenhorn for sharing his story with Chat 62, and thank you to Paul Stringer for joining us in the guest host chair.

  • Episode 72 - David Weisenhorn - Part Three
    Oct 6 2026

In Part Three, David Weisenhorn’s story moves from service to transition.

After leaving the Army, David did not have a perfect plan waiting for him. There was terminal leave, a trip to California, a chance connection, and a job that opened the next door.

But over time, David realized that a job is not always a calling.

The Army had given him purpose. The corporate world gave him opportunity, but not the same sense of meaning. That search eventually led him back to school, into counseling, into fatherhood, and through a professional challenge that changed the direction of his path.

This episode is about transition, identity, and the search for meaningful work after the uniform comes off.

  • Episode 71 - David Weisenhorn - Part Two
    Sep 29 2026

In Part Two, David Weisenhorn takes us inside the Old Guard.

David explains what the unit represents, what it was like serving as a chaplain’s assistant, and the weight of standing with families during burial ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery.

    Then September 11th changed everything.

Stationed near the Pentagon, David found himself moving toward history as it unfolded in real time. He shares what he saw, what he experienced, and how that day changed the way he understood the uniform, the mission, and the meaning of service.

This is a powerful chapter in David’s story — one centered on duty, grief, and the weight carried by those who serve.

  • Episode 70 - David Weisenhorn - Part One
    Sep 22 2026

In Part One of David Weisenhorn’s story, we go back to the beginning.

David shares what it was like growing up in a large family in Gastonia, North Carolina, how college shaped his path, and why the Army eventually became the next step in his life.

What started as a practical decision soon became something much bigger. After basic training and AIT, David expected to head overseas to Germany. Instead, the Army redirected him toward one of its most historic and visible units: the Old Guard.

At the time, David did not fully understand what that meant.

    But his father did.

This is the road that brought David to the doorway of the Old Guard.
