We had the pleasure of having Scott Lee of Scott Lee & the Wanderers into the studio for an episode of Chasing the Muse...during his visit, we recorded a couple of tunes sooo...get ready to dig deep and work hard...here is Scott at Stylie Music Studio in Worthington OH, singing his tune Factory Blues!

Broomwatr and Matt "Stylie" Steidle are joined by Lydia Brownfield and Jeff Dalrymple, local singer songwriters in Columbus OH who have an amazing book of songs, and a natural deep connection to each other that opens the third eye. We talk about creative songwriting and lyrics, laugh about the things we can't control, and finally hear 3 songs from this duo that blows our socks off.

In our first Origins story, we hear the story of Josh Riedy, currently drumming for That's the Breaks out of Columbus, OH. Josh, aka Buckitty Beats, is an accomplished drummer with several degrees, years of experience, and a passion and talent for bucket drumming. He also slays on the drum kit with bands across the CBUS region.

Josh shares the challenges of graduating college and finding his path, from losing his muse in the jazz community, to finding it again (with a bit of faith and a lot of bucket drumming), and through a serious injury and back into the daylight. Its an amazing story.

We spent some time with Scott Lee, and talked music, and history! Scott Lee is a folk singer and songwriter originally from Dayton, Ohio. He has spent much of his life studying Americana and traditional music, which he grew up loving. His influences include pioneers like Jimmie Rodgers, Woody Guthrie, and Hank Williams, as well as honky-tonk legend Ernest Tubb, poetic songwriter Townes Van Zandt, and blues great Lightnin' Hopkins. Scott's mission with his music and writing is to add his own style and perspective to the folk music tradition. Currently, Scott is lead vocals and rhythm guitar for the band Scott Lee & The Wanderers.

In episode 2, we bring onto the show Emily Morgan, aka Lovely But Dead. She is an artist, business owner, and daytime data and tech professional! We talk about the Columbus Collage Collective, The Midwest Merchant Project, and her own art endeavors. We chat about collaborating with other people, which is key to growth and change. Then she and Stylie do a collage collab, and we'll post that video as extra content. We also here pieces of some great original music...Enjoy!

Matt 'Stylie' Steidle and broomwatr talk a little bit about 7-string guitars and the inspiration to play something different, then share some ideas on how to think about legacy in your artistic career. We challenge ourselves to write a song based on some random parameters, knowing that legacy doesn't always come from logical space but from small foundations. We share some branding tips for artists and musicians, discuss some recent musical collabs, and Matt plays his original tune Lover's Fool!
