🚨 CHARGERS NEWS! Today, Andrew McFarland continues his breakdown of The Athletic's new Chargers beat reporter Noah Furtado and his Reddit AMA from the bye week. In Part 2, Furtado says the Chargers should be sellers to some extent before the Nov. 10 trade deadline, explains why he thinks Quentin Johnston is not an X receiver, flags the hamstring injuries, and talks about covering Justin Herbert and Jim Harbaugh at 0-6. Chargers Digest breaks down what Furtado said about Khalil Mack, Derwin James, Quentin Johnston, Justin Herbert and the Chargers' injury reports, and checks his answers against the numbers. 🏈 SELLERS AT THE TRADE DEADLINE Furtado says the Chargers should be sellers to some extent but expects nothing during the bye week. He notes Khalil Mack would be a rental, Derwin James just signed an extension, and he has a hard time seeing an 0-6 team buy. The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. ET. Should the Chargers sell? Who could be moved? 🏈 QUENTIN JOHNSTON AND THE X RECEIVER ROLE Furtado says the team tried to make Johnston an X receiver and he is not one, pointing to contested catches and hands. Johnston has 8 catches on 21 targets this season and averages 20.6 yards a catch. Joe Hortiz said in April he had zero calls on Johnston. Is Johnston part of the Chargers' future? 🏈 HAMSTRINGS AND THE INJURY REPORT Furtado says the soft tissue injuries are worth a look after the season. The Oct. 2 and Oct. 9 game status reports from ESPN's Kris Rhim list Derwin James, Elijah Molden, Dalvin Tomlinson, Donte Jackson and Rodney Shelley with hamstring injuries, and Tre Harris hurt his hamstring on Oct. 11. What is behind the Chargers' soft tissue injuries? 🏈 HERBERT, HARBAUGH AND THE PRESS Furtado calls a Herbert trade request unlikely, says Herbert has been businesslike at 0-6, and says tough questions are not him calling Herbert the problem. We also cover his answers on Chargers PR, Daniel Popper's advice, how he landed the beat, and which Monopoly square the Chargers are. Part 1 covers his hot seat ratings and blame split. 🔥 CHARGERS NEWS & RUMORS COVERED: Chargers news today Chargers 2026 NFL season Chargers 0-6 Chargers trade deadline Chargers sellers trade deadline 2026 Khalil Mack trade Derwin James extension Quentin Johnston Chargers Quentin Johnston X receiver Chargers injuries hamstring Justin Herbert trade request Justin Herbert 2026 Noah Furtado Chargers Noah Furtado Reddit AMA Jim Harbaugh Chargers 💬 CHARGERS FANS: Should the Chargers sell before the Nov. 10 trade deadline?
