It’s a story about family, about love that never faded, and about the fight for justice that’s still going strong after all these years...     On February 13th, 2018 the Channahon Police Department responded to a call of a female with a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, the police observed that Samantha Harer, a former Channahon police intern who then served as a dispatcher for the village’s emergency call center, had been shot. Her boyfriend, Phil Flores an off-duty Crest Hill police officer called 911 claiming that it was self-inflicted. However, his story and his behavior would raise far too many questions for everyone but the police department involved.
