À propos de ce contenu audio

This is the podcast about creativity. Conversations with entrepreneurs, artists and personalities who are changing the world around them with creativity. Why is creativity so important? Creativity is the ability to transcend traditional ways of thinking and acting and to develop new and original ideas, methods or things. We need inventiveness to keep reinventing ourselves and the world around us. Without creativity, we keep going down the same paths. To be creative means to be free. Instead of being oriented to the mainstream, creativity enables us to question supposed ideals and offers space for the unfinished or imperfect. The extraordinary relevance attributed to creativity as an individual and social phenomenon in our present day can be seen in the programmatic study The Rise of the Creative Class by American sociologist Richard Florida in 2000. According to Florida, the central transformation that has taken place in Western societies between the postwar period and the present is not so much a technological as a cultural one. The watershed can be marked in the 1970s, and it concerns the emergence and spread of a "creative ethos." At its center is a new, rapidly expanding and culturally tone-setting professional group, the creative class, with its characteristic activities of producing ideas and symbols - from advertising to software development, from design to consulting.© 2024 CREATIVITÄT Art Economie Marketing et ventes Sciences sociales

What drives a photographer to dedicate his life to capturing the raw, often harsh realities of the world? Explore this and more as we sit down with the extraordinary Alberto Venzago, a Swiss photographer whose lens has witnessed the depths of human experience—from the shadowy world of the Yakuza in Japan to the spiritual rites of the voodoo cult in Benin. Born in Zurich with a richly diverse heritage, Venzago reveals how his Italian and German roots steered him towards an artistic path. We delve into his philosophy that photography is more than just taking pictures; it’s about concept and skill, and the power to provoke thought and inspire change.

Have you ever wondered how deep research and storytelling can transform a photograph into a narrative masterpiece? Join us as we explore Venzago's rigorous process of visual storytelling, focusing on a fascinating project set in Polynesia. We reflect on the lives and legacies of Paul Gauguin's models while dissecting Gauguin's complex character. Discover how personal motivations and influences, including the impact of women and the dark side of creativity, fuel Venzago's artistic ethos. It's a conversation that bridges the gap between historical context and modern interpretation, pushing the boundaries of how we perceive art and its creators.

What does it mean to leave a legacy through art? In a poignant discussion, Venzago opens up about the emotional conflict of desiring recognition while facing the possibility of obscurity. We touch on the joy and fulfillment of creating images that resonate deeply with others, even if their creator is no longer around to witness it. Venzago shares heartfelt anecdotes, including a personal conversation about the future of his work and his admiration for fellow photographers like Peter Lindbergh and Helmut Newton. This episode underscores the transformative power of creativity, offering a profound reflection on the joys and challenges of an artist's journey. Join us for an inspiring look into the heart and soul of Alberto Venzago's remarkable career.
