    • 2. Beyond Time Management: Focusing on What Really Matters
      Aug 16 2025

Time management isn’t really about time—it’s about what we choose to focus on, where we spend our energy, and how we set our boundaries. In this episode, I get real about how I’ve reframed “time management” in my own life and business.

I share why we can’t actually control time (spoiler: it keeps moving no matter what) but we can manage our attention and energy in ways that bring more peace and sustainability. From learning how to say no, to breaking tasks down into “next action items,” to using tools like the Eisenhower Matrix, we’ll dig into how to stop chasing the illusion of productivity and start building rhythms that actually support us.

I also explore the metaphor of the plate—what’s on it, what you’re actually hungry for, and why it’s okay to leave things off for now. Because being busy isn’t the same as being fulfilled.

      Key Takeaways

      • You can’t manage time—but you can manage your attention, energy, and expectations.
      • Schedules and time blocking create freedom, not limitation.
      • The Eisenhower Matrix is a simple tool to sort urgent vs. important.
      • Progress isn’t about doing more—it’s about the next right action step.
      • Ask yourself: What’s on my plate right now, and what am I actually hungry for?

      Quotable Moments

      • “Time is not real—it’s our attention and energy that matter.”
      • “Just because it’s urgent doesn’t mean it’s important.”
      • “You don’t have to eat everything on your plate just because it’s there.”
      • “Sometimes the next step isn’t doing more—it’s slowing down.”

    • 1. Built for Busy, Not for Burnout
      Aug 2 2025

Welcome to the very first episode of Busyness and Burnout! I’m Sydnea Lewis—entrepreneur, professor, yoga teacher, and fellow creative trying to navigate the chaos of life without crashing. In this debut episode, I share my personal burnout story: from juggling multiple jobs during the start of the pandemic to landing in full-blown exhaustion and stress-related illness (hello, tinnitus and anxiety attacks).

This episode is your invitation to stop glamorizing the grind and start being honest about what sustainable success really looks like. We'll explore:

      • What burnout actually feels like (spoiler: it’s not always obvious)
      • How creative passion and burnout often go hand in hand
      • Why “doing it all” isn’t the flex we think it is
      • How redefining success and saying “no” can be radical acts of self-care
      • Why rest is not a reward—it’s a requirement

You'll also get a quick body check-in meditation to start tuning into your needs and reclaiming your energy.

      → Key Takeaways

      • Burnout can happen while doing what you love. Passion doesn’t protect you from overwork.
      • Rest isn’t optional. Your body will keep score.
      • You can be busy and balanced, but not without intention.
      • Success doesn’t always mean more clients or more money. Sometimes, it’s time freedom and peace of mind.
      • Systems and support are crucial. You don’t have to do this alone.

      → Quotable Moments

"I was running in circles doing what I loved—and still burned out."
"You don’t have to say yes to everything to be successful."
"Burnout doesn’t shout. It whispers—until your body shuts down."
"Success used to be hustle. Now, it’s freedom, alignment, and peace."

      → Resources Mentioned
