Dean Spinks who was born in Broadstairs is a locally based photographer who is extremely well know here in the town for his amazing photographs of sunsets, moon shots and images capturing the beautiful coastline of this area.

His photographs have been exhibited in galleries in the town and over 300 have appeared for the background of the weather reports on Meridian, BBC and other channels.

Martin Cheek is a versatile mosaic artist who initially founded the technique of incorporating glass fusions into his mosaics. In so doing, he essentially transformed the art and added unique textural interest to his work. The intricately detailed glass fusions, all made by Martin in his workshop, take his mosaics to another dimension, adding varying degrees of reflectivity and energy, something not easily obtained using traditional mosaic materials.

Martin is originally from Birmingham, England, and was educated at Exeter College of Art and Design. He made award-winning films as a student, worked on several puppet animation projects including The Wind in the Willows, Paddington Bear, Noddy in Toyland and Portland Bill, before setting up his own production company, Cheeky Films, Ltd. He also served for many years as a part-time lecturer at the Royal College of Art and was an art critic for The Daily Express.

Local Broadstairs resident Nigel tells us about his life as a musician and Festival Director and founder of the Broadstairs Blues Bash which he started 18 years ago. He has been involved in all types of music for 30 years. Tour managing, performance, The harmonica being his favoured instrument which will feature in the podcast with an amazing live performance.

Hello my name is Yuna I am a story teller and a songstress. I'm the founder of Yuna's Young Friends. I spend time in Broadstairs with my partner and love now being part of the local community.
