  • GOD’S PROFITABLE WORD! 2 Timothy 3:16 – Devotional
    Jan 27 2026

    2 Timothy 3:16

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.“

Buffet restaurants are popular places to eat because there are so many food choices available. The problem is that there are so many options that it is common to eat more than is appropriate. Digestive misery is the result!

In the case of God’s Word, too many people seem to feel that they are permitted to select only the portions that they find agreeable and reject the remainder. Today’s passage dispels that line of thought. We are told that ALL Scripture is the inspired (God breathed) Word of God.

If all Scripture is given by God, we need to refuse to listen to those who choose to present only the portions they like and reject the rest. Paul goes even further when instructing his son in the faith, Timothy, the purpose of Scripture: It is for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness.

Notice that it is only as these attributes are applied that the spiritually mature individual will be completely equipped for every good work. Are you faithful in applying God’s Word to your life? Remember His purpose for Scripture.

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

  • BE STILL! Psalm 46:10 – Devotional
    Jan 22 2026

    Psalm 46:10

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!“

Do you have a quiet place, a place far away from the stress and turmoil of life to just be still as you read God’s Word? This quiet place should be more than a physical location; it should be a spiritual oasis. We can experience quietness and peace even in the midst of the battles of life. We know what our battlegrounds are; what we need is peace!

Sometimes we may observe groups frenziedly waving placards promoting peace. More often than not these are the very people who cause conflicts and dissention. As far as I know, they seldom, if ever, establish peace.

The Lord desires for us to enter into a blessed stillness with Him. It may require a commitment on our part to find the time and place where we can experience Him in serenity as we pray and read His Word.

We can hear the Lord call to us from today’s passage of Scripture: “Be still, and know that I am God.” If we fail to take the time to be alone with God, we will never experience the knowledge of His Lordship in our life. Open your Bible and read in silence. Listen for the quiet voice of the Lord whispering peace and blessing within your inner being. Learn to be still.

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

  • THE EYES OF FAITH! 1 Corinthians 2:9 – Devotional
    Jan 21 2026

    1 Corinthians 2:9

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.“

We live in a world that has come alive with many things that have been invisible until now. Giant telescopes are revealing the vastness of space far beyond the comprehension of our forefathers. Microscopes on the other hand, have opened our eyes to the world of microbiology that is a universe in itself.

The satisfying thing to me as a believer in God and His Word is that God has revealed much of this mystery long before the scientists claim to have made their discoveries. To me it is far more logical to believe the God who created all things than to trust scientists who often are more interested in having a paper published than in honestly supporting the claims of the Bible.

I do not want to discredit sincere scientists, but it is more common for the scientific community to spend a majority of their efforts in disproving the Bible than in reporting with integrity what they discover.

Interestingly, many scientists have become believers in the Lord Jesus Christ after finding that what was taught in the classroom was contrived and lacked the support of true scientific evidence. It was most often based upon what others claimed, not on the actual evidence! True faith sees the truth!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

  • OBEY THE SIGNS! Proverbs 16:25 – Devotional
    Jan 20 2026

    Proverbs 16:25

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.“

One time I noticed a young woman slouched over speaking into a cell phone. My eyes were drawn to the sign that she was leaning against. It read: DEAD END STREET.

Wow! That hit me like a ton of bricks. How many times do we see people around us who are living on a dead-end street? We also can face many dead-end streets in our own life.

Even though there are caution signs, all too often people fail to ignore the warning signs and suddenly come to a sudden and catastrophic stop at the end. Warning signs are the time to either turn around or collide.

We may listen to the sweet enticement to seek the pleasures of sin, but to do so will inevitably lead us onto a dead-end street. Sad! Sad! The bitter wail!

But there is an option. If we find ourselves on a dead-end street, we need to immediately make a U-turn. In Scripture we find that U-turn described by one word…REPENTANCE! If you are on a dead-end street, repent as soon as possible. When I was a teen we had an expression: “TURN! DON’T BURN!”

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

  • CHOOSE TO PRAISE! Psalm 100:4 – Devotional
    Jan 19 2026

    Psalm 100:4

“Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him and bless His name.“

We all have things to be thankful for. Across the years of my life I have come to realize that we have far more to praise God for than to complain about what we do not have.

If you are like me, you will recall individuals who seem to be committed to be the biggest complainers in their sphere of influence. It is possible to spot these people by the way others seem to go out of their way to avoid them.

These people are not known to be “praise people” but rather complaining people. I for one have a desire to be known as a person of praise. In every situation of life I want to search for something to praise God for and then – – PRAISE HIM!

Are you a person of praise? I urge you to begin immediately to praise the Lord for the day He has given us and the opportunity to serve Him with joy and gladness in our heart and a smile on our face. SMILE AWHILE! It will be a blessing to a world that is filled with too many frowns!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!

  • KNOWN BY THE LORD! Psalm 139:1 – Devotional
    Jan 15 2026

    Psalm 139:1

“Lord, You have searched us and know us inside and out yet You love us still.“

From time to time we have lunch with a friend to celebrate their birthday. As we review the menu, we are faced with many appealing choices. We know that no matter what we chose it will be delicious; but will it be good for us? Ah! That’s a different story isn’t it?

From time to time we all are called upon to make choices. As a matter of fact, we are faced with choices each and every day. Some of these choices are relatively insignificant (such as what to order off a restaurant menu) while others could be life changing.

The Israelites had seen the powerful hand of the Lord lead them from their bondage in Egypt to possess the Promised Land. You would think that they would never want to turn their back on God, but they did! Why? Because they yielded to Satan, who tempted them with temporal things that pass away.

I have no idea what temptation you are facing right now in your life, but I urge you to make the right choice and, like Joshua, choose to serve the Lord!

May God richly bless you as you bless others by your words and actions!
