    More about Rev. Dr Gen: Rev. Dr. Gen (PhD, LMSW, MDiv) is an author, speaker, educator, and advocate for domestic violence awareness. Her research includes resilience and posttraumatic growth in survivors, the lived experiences of institutional betrayal and courage in survivors, and the church’s response to domestic violence. She also serves on local, state, and national boards and committees for organizations dedicated to ending violence and supporting those who have experienced abuse. As a survivor of more than two decades of domestic violence herself, she is passionate about validating survivor experiences and bringing awareness to issues that survivors encounter as they seek to rebuild their lives after abuse.
