Kat chats with environmentalists, abolitionists, moshers and musicians at the Stop Cop City, Save Atlanta Forest music festival and Atlanta City Hall. If you've been seeing the headlines or watching reels on Instagram, listen to this full length podcast to hear first hand accounts about the movement. Topics covered include the music festival itself, the housing crisis in Atlanta, poor jail conditions, the intersection of abolition and environmentalism, intersectionality and solidarity, new methods for sustaining a movement, the murder of Tortuguita, and the resistance of the community.
Learn from experts and advocates ages 7 to 70 as they share why they attended the Week of Action in March 2023 and explain how and why the Stop Cop City movement began and continues to unfold.
