At the VALLEY Music Fest, I had the opportunity to sit down with Andru Jamison for a powerful and deeply human interview that went far beyond music. We talked about his military career and the lasting impact it had on his life, leading into honest conversations about addiction, recovery, and the long road back to himself. Andru spoke openly about how music became his lifeline—a place to process pain, rediscover purpose, and ultimately save his life when everything else felt lost. What stood out most was his willingness to be vulnerable, to share the parts of his story that are often hidden, and to show how openness can be both terrifying and freeing. His story was a reminder that healing isn’t linear, and that courage sometimes looks like telling the truth out loud.
