In this episode, we explore Exodus 16 and the story of God providing manna in the wilderness. Even after being delivered from Egypt, Israel still struggled with trust, obedience, and the pull of their old life.

God’s provision of manna was more than food—it was a daily test of surrender and dependence on Him. The instructions that came with the manna revealed an important truth: the abundant life God offers is found not in self-sufficiency, but in submission to His Word.

We’ll also look at how the manna points forward to Jesus Christ, the true Bread of Heaven (John 6:30–35)—the One who satisfies our deepest hunger and invites us to live daily dependent on Him.

The wilderness teaches us this: the abundant life is available to anyone who surrenders and submits to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Why does God sometimes lead us into the wilderness right after a victory? In Exodus 15:22–27, Israel discovers that the same God who defeated their enemies at the Red Sea is the God who provides for their needs in the wilderness.

Discipleship is learning to trust God with our minds and obey Him with our hearts, and God often teaches us those lessons in seasons where we must depend on Him completely.
