In 2028, the Sycamore View Church in Memphis, Tennessee, will turn 50 years old, and we want to do this right. We want to use the next few years as a season of reflection and preparation: reflection concerning all God has done through this church, and preparation for God's future here. Join our Children's Minister, Anna Moser, as she hears the stories of Sycamore View.Sycamore View Church Christianisme Ministère et évangélisme Spiritualité

      Feb 8 2026

Over 20 years ago, our church family
asked our elders to study three issues: divorce and
remarriage, instrumental worship, and the role of
women in public worship. Over the next decade, our
leaders carefully, thoughtfully, and prayerfully worked
through these three conversations. We wanted to
provide clarity on these issues as we continued with
"Helping people see Jesus." In this 50 for 50, Phil Hart
talks us through our position paper on Instrumental
      Worship.

In 2028, Sycamore View Church will turn 50 years old,
and we want to do this right. We want to use the next
few years as a season of reflection and preparation:
reflection concerning all God has done through this
church and preparation for God’s future here. We want
to be great story-tellers. So we’re launching what
we’re calling “50 for 50.” Telling fifty stories. Over fifty
months. Celebrating fifty years. At the beginning of
every month until the spring of 2028, we will release a
new story celebrating events, ministries, people, and
risks, all in attempt to honor ways God has shaped and
formed this church.Sycamore View is a community

In 2008, Sycamore View began a capital campaign to update the building to accommodate our thriving church. We knew God was calling us to create a space for young people, especially those right here in our neighborhood, but we weren't exactly sure what that would look like. As God does, he threw open doors and showed us exactly what that could look like. Years later, the Boys and Girls Club at Sycamore View is still thriving and growing in ways we could have never imagined.

Since 1978, Sycamore View has had numerous people serve in the role as office staff. This role has been vital for our ministers and church family. In this 50 for 50, we honor those who have served in this position and talk with Kim Chapman and Kathy Mccoy on their time here.
