Good morning. Washington. I'm Aaron Jolly. That drizzle greeting you on the windshield? Think of it as a trailer for the main feature. A frontal system is sliding inland right now, shoving out the mild, dry air and replacing it with something cooler and much wetter. This pattern isn't a one day visitor. It's moving in for the week. In the next 24 hours. Step outside in Seattle and you'll feel 49 degrees. Overnight lows barely touched 45. Comfortable enough. But don't get attached. Rain fills in across Puget Sound through the afternoon. Highs top out at 54 degrees with south winds around 6 to 10 miles an hour. That damp chill finds every zipper. Tonight the rain cranks up a notch. Lows hold near 47 degrees. Slide south to Olympia and Tacoma and it's the same soggy script. Rain all day, 54 degrees, lows settling near 45 tonight. Now flip the map east. Eastern Washington squeezes out one last dry afternoon. Partly sunny skies, highs pushing 58 degrees. Soak up every minute, because rain rolls in after 31 degrees tonight and lows drop to 43 degrees. Wednesday is where this story gets interesting. That front deepens. Rain goes statewide. Thunderstorms could rumble through Puget Sound between 1 and 4 P.M. Snow levels crash to 3,000 feet. Snoqualmie and Stevens Passes could pick up 2 to 4 inches. Folks heading over the passes, pack your chains. Looking ahead, rain shows up every single day through Monday. Temperatures hover in the low 50s. Then Monday night brings a plot twist. Cold air sneaks in and a rain snow mix could reach the lowlands. March doing March things. One bright spot. We're gaining over three minutes of daylight every day now. Spring equinox is just two weeks out. Tonight's full moon will have to fight through the clouds, but it's up there. Keep an umbrella in the car all week. You'll use it more than your phone.
